Average review rating Local Engineers For Penicuik And EH26
We cover Penicuik and the surrounding Midlothian villages. Air source heat pumps, solar and battery storage, boiler installation and replacement, and servicing for systems fitted by anyone.
Culbertson Renewables is family-run and fully accredited — MCS certified, NICEIC approved and Gas Safe registered. Every quotation is free and in writing, and the paperwork at the end is part of the job.
What You Get From Culbertson Renewables
Plenty of properties out toward the villages are off the gas grid on oil, LPG or storage heating. Those are among the strongest cases for a heat pump we see, because the fuel being replaced is expensive.

Penicuik Questions

Yes. We are based at 13a Bridge Street in Portobello and cover Penicuik and the rest of Midlothian as part of our normal working area. Give us your postcode when you enquire and we will confirm before booking anything in.
Do you offer free quotes in Penicuik?
Yes. Every quotation is free, given in writing, and follows a survey where the job needs one. There is no obligation to go ahead.
What can you actually do — is it just heating?
Plumbing, heating, renewables and electrical work are all handled in-house. Boilers, air source heat pumps, solar and battery storage, underfloor heating, EV chargers, rewires, fuse boards, servicing and landlord gas safety certificates. One team, one point of contact.
Can you help with the Home Energy Scotland grant?
Yes. As MCS-accredited installers we can guide you through the grant of up to £7,500 and the interest-free loan of up to £7,500 towards an air source heat pump, and we handle the paperwork at no extra cost.
Do you service systems someone else installed?
We do. Annual boiler and heat pump servicing, landlord gas safety checks and repairs, whoever fitted the system originally.
